Separation is ... Good?

Sabbatical is a time of change, and change means growth. It will mean growth for Pastor Curt, who will be away. It will mean growth for Pastor Tom, who will be leading the church,, and it will mean growth for the congregation, who will have to take on new responsibilities.

Sabbatical is about separation--separation of church from pastor and pastor from church. For the pastor, it is good to have time to rest and to listen to what God is saying for the next season of life. For the church, it is good, because the people have the opportunity to grow, to mature in Christ, to find new callings, and to take on new roles,
